I am Silvia Xalabarde, a professional translator based in Vancouver. I’ve been a translator for ten years, working extensively for well-known international companies, including Lush, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Facebook and many others.

I am certified to translate from English to Spanish, Spanish to English, Italian to English and German to English by CTTIC (Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council) and English to Spanish and Spanish to English by the ATA (American Translation Association). I am currently completing an MA in Translation with a focus on German.

I am currently the President of STIBC  (The Society for Translations and Interpreters in BC), and the new editor of the The Voice, their quarterly publication. You can read my latest article on how to keep sane in COVID times here.

I’m also a published writer in both English and Spanish – my articles have been published in very reputable magazines, including the well known Canadian lit mag, The Walrus.
